MELBOURNE: The Brawn GP, Toyota and Williams Formula One teams faced an attempt to bar them from the Australian Grand Prix on Thursday in a controversy that threatens to sour Sunday’s season-opening race.
The governing International Automobile Federation (FIA) said Red Bull, Renault and Ferrari had lodged protests on the grounds that the rivals’ cars did not comply with technical regulations.
The FIA said representatives of the three teams had been invited to appear before the race stewards at the Albert Park circuit.
