According to sources during the first meeting, which was held prior to PPP's provincial Parliamentary meeting, the PM underlined that the world has set an eye on Pakistan especially the situation in Punjab. He said that a strong and stable Punjab is significant for stability in Pakistan.

Sources say that during the meeting the PM and Governor Taseer discussed a host of issues regarding the prevailing political chaos.

Gilani also informed Governor Taseer regarding his meeting with PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind.

Governor Taseer briefed the PM regarding his meeting with the PML-Q for forming a government in Punjab. Sources said that different options had been reviewed to end governor rule.

According to a private TV channel, a second meeting took place at the Lahore airport prior to the PM's departure for Islamabad.
